ASUS Continues Collaboration with Dirac To Deliver Industry-Leading Audio Experiences
Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac and ASUS, a global innovator of phones, computers and electronics, today announced an expansion of their partnership to integrate the award-winning Dirac Virtuo spatial audio solution into the powerful new ROG Phone 7 series of gaming smartphones and Vivobook and ExpertBook series of laptops – delivering users amazingly realistic, immersive soundscapes anywhere they go.
All three Dirac-enabled ASUS mobile devices will, for the first time, be on display at COMPUTEX 2023, taking place May 30th through June 2nd, in ASUS booths M0510 and M0810.

Dirac Virtuo on Latest ASUS Devices
Dirac Virtuo enables a high-resolution spatial and immersive sound experience by creating a spacious, natural soundscape beyond the physical confines of the sound system with accurate sound localization.
For smartphones and laptops – like the ROG Phone 7, the Vivobook, and the ExpertBook – Dirac Virtuo enables immersive sound from the device’s built-in speakers while enhancing the speakers’ overall sound quality. The solution compensates for the shortcomings of small speakers to enhance their acoustic performance dramatically, while also creating a soundstage much wider than the device itself – enabling exceptional immersion for gaming, movies, music and more without requiring multi-channel or object-based content types.
For headphones connected to the ROG Phone 7, Dirac Virtuo employs a high-resolution binaural impulse response technology to restore speaker crosstalk and correct the stereo soundstage. With Dirac Virtuo, sound seemingly comes from a pair of premium stereo speakers in front of the listener, rather than from inside their head – creating a truer, more accurate, and immersive stereo soundstage than standard headphones can deliver.
The ROG Phone 7 series includes two models – the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate – which each leverage the audio excellence of Dirac Virtuo. Both phones offer all the power that users need for any task, with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform and advanced GameCool 7 thermal system delivering hours of carefree media enjoyment and gaming.
Furthermore, gamers who want physical buttons, greater cooling for marathon sessions, and even better sound can connect the add-on AeroActive Cooler 7, which adds a powerful thermoelectric AI cooling system, four rear ergonomic buttons, and a powerful subwoofer that creates a 2.1 system optimized by Dirac Virtuo.
The Vivobook and ExpertBook series of laptops offer users Dirac-optimized sound modes that enhance performance for specific audio use cases. Music Mode delivers rich, detailed audio to clearly reproduce each note and beat, while Game Mode creates a wider, more immersive soundstage for more realistic gaming experiences. Movie lovers who use Movie Mode can enjoy clearer dialogue and virtualized surround sound for a cinematic experience. Dirac and ASUS previously collaborated on past ROG smartphones, including the ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 3. However, this latest collaboration marks the first time Dirac’s digital audio solutions are featured in ASUS’s award-winning line-up of laptops.
