NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super Reviews
Introduction
NVIDIA today releases the Super Series graphics cards, a factory-overclocked version of the older non-super GeForce RTX 20 Series graphics cards. The Super Series aims to counter AMD’s Radeon NAVI graphics cards which will be launched later this month. If you are looking into a graphics card upgrade, checking some GeForce RTX 2060 Super reviews to compare it with other NVIDIA and Radeon offerings. The GeForce RTX 2060 Super could be perceived as a “Turing refresh” given that these feature the same chip as the non-Super cards. Refreshing GPUs is a common industry practice with both NVIDIA and Radeon wherein an ‘enhanced’ version of a previously released GPU is reintroduced which could have higher core clocks and boost clocks, higher CUDA core count, and other improvements.
GeForce RTX 2060 Super Vs GeForce RTX 2060
There are some distinct differences with the GeForce RTX 2060 Super compared to the previous generation GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. The GeForce RTX 2060 Super uses the “TU106-410” GPU while the GeForce RTX 2060 uses the “TU106-200” GPU, both featuring the NVIDIA Turing microarchitecture. The GeForce RTX 2060 Super will also have more shaders of 2176 compared to just 1920 of the GeForce RTX 2060. The GeForce RTX 2060 Super will also have more memory with 8GB of GDDR6 14Gbps memory. Check out the specifications of the GeForce RTX 2060 Super and previous-generation GeForce RTX 2060 below.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super Graphics Card
The reference edition NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super will be sporting a similar cooler as the GeForce RTX 2060 with the addition of the ‘Super’ logo etches on the aluminum shroud. It sports a dual-fan cooler with a LED-lit RTX GeForce logo on the side. The dual-axial 13-blade fans offer ultra-cool and quiet performance. It also comes with an aesthetic and thermally conductive backplate for added sturdiness and cooling.
NVIDIA’s partners will be releasing their own versions of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super with different cooling designs, higher base clocks and boost clocks, and other enhancements compared to the reference design. Major NVIDIA GeForce GPU partners are expected to release a whole line-up of NVIDIA GeForce Super Series graphics cards. Still, the older non-Super cards are said to remain in circulation and production as of this writing offering builders, enthusiasts, gamers, and overclockers a wider selection of graphics card options considering the upcoming arrival of the Radeon NAVI-based graphics cards – the Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics cards.
The GeForce RTX 2060 Super offers significant performance improvement compared to the GeForce RTX 2060 as shown on the figures above provided by NVIDIA.
